How we designed a crypto wallet that wins first-time users and retains pros

Our approach was built on the business objective of expanding Dollet’s market share by removing usability barriers. We combined in-depth UX insights from three user groups crypto newcomers, beginners, and professionals into a single, scalable wallet experience with widgets.

The redesign ensures newcomers quickly understand how to use the wallet, while professionals get advanced tools to manage diverse assets efficiently. This dual focus positioned Dollet as a mass-market fintech product ready for global adoption.

Through UX research, we learned that unclear terminology and hidden core features caused drop-offs during the first week of use. We streamlined onboarding with intuitive language, visual balance tracking, and contextual tips, helping users understand the wallet’s value within minutes.

Instead of just listing coins and tokens, we transformed each asset page into a decision-making hub with market data, performance trends, related strategies, and curated news. This made Dollet a daily-use tool for both retail and professional users, increasing engagement and reducing the need to rely on external platforms.

Beginners often feared sending funds due to complex jargon and lack of feedback on pending transactions. We simplified transfer flows, used plain language, and introduced persistent transaction widgets for real-time updates, improving user confidence and speed of execution.

Many users manage assets across multiple wallets and networks. We introduced a Portfolio section that consolidates performance tracking, expense/profit analysis, and fast cross-account transfers, making Dollet a central hub for a user’s entire crypto ecosystem.

To accommodate diverse trading styles, we empowered users to customize quick actions, navigation, display currency, and themes. This flexibility enhanced app engagement by enabling every user from casual investors to full-time traders to personalize Dollet to fit their unique workflows.
