Weekly Design & Tech Digest | Week of July 28–August 1, 2025

A 3D-rendered abstract object with a glossy, purple, and rounded geometric structure appears on the right side of the image, set against a smooth gradient background that transitions from light blue on the left to deep blue on the right. The design has a futuristic and digital aesthetic.
Summary

🚀 What do €650M AI funding, AI that audits itself, and a healthcare app changing the game have in common? They’re proof that while everyone’s hyped about AI, the real wins come from making it actually work.

No fluff, just vibes you have to catch. Let’s get it.

Industry Moves

  • European VCs are throwing €650M at AI startups through Eurazeo's new fund. They're hunting for AI companies that actually solve real problems instead of just existing because they can. Finally, investors with taste.
  • IdentifAI grabbed €5M to fight deepfakes because apparently 70% of people can't tell what's real anymore. Plot twist: the solution to AI-generated fake content is more AI. We're living in a simulation at this point.

Product Spotlight

  • Anthropic just deployed AI agents to police their own AI. They're literally using Claude to audit Claude for safety issues. It's giving "I used the stones to destroy the stones" energy, but honestly? Kind of genius. Better than having overworked humans play whack-a-mole with AI problems forever.
  • Google dropped MedGemma and healthcare might never be the same. This thing can look at your X-rays and read your medical history at the same time. Scored 87.7% on medical knowledge tests while costing 10x less to run than bigger models. Your local hospital's IT budget is crying tears of joy right now.

Design & AI Insights

  • Lazarev.agency website redesign for Dynascale is officially live. This partnership is giving the main character energy. The team took a cloud infrastructure company that looked like every other tech site and made them actually stand out.
  • How&Walsh made drinking water cool for Lemon Perfect. They turned basic hydration into something people actually look forward to. Sometimes the best design is just making boring stuff feel less boring.
  • KFC said "delete the smile" and made Colonel Sanders scary again. Their new "Obsession" campaign strips away the jolly mascot vibes and shows the real Colonel throwing out subpar gravy and literally fighting people who steal his recipe.
