What Was the Challenge?

AfroTech’s mission was to build a dynamic digital space for Black professionals to connect and grow. With over 20K annual conference attendees and a growing global presence, they focused on developing a scalable media ecosystem that reflected the ambition of their movement.

4 Core Changes We Launched to Give AfroTech a New Look

AfroTech needed a complete ecosystem. Lazarev.agency led an end-to-end transformation, translating AfroTech’s vision into a high-impact platform.

  • Comprehensive web platform to anchor AfroTech’s digital presence. For intuitive browsing, we replaced standard category filters with tag-based search. On the news page, a two-column layout now features top articles alongside the latest updates to boost user engagement.  
  • Dedicated mobile app, AfroTech Connect. Launched in October 2023, the app helped improve conference experience, boost event networking, and provide real-time updates.
  • Unified brand identity and design system to ensure consistency across web, app, events, and partner initiatives. We developed a detailed brand guide to help AfroTech scale with confidence, keeping every product and customer interaction aligned with its core identity.  
  • Integrated ad components to drive revenue for AfroTech without disrupting the user experience.
