How Lazarev.agency helped Kontrak IQ recover value and reach signature sooner

About the project

How we transformed contract intelligence into daily decisions

Kontrak IQ is an AI-powered contract management platform. It treats every legal and commercial contract as a source of data, insights, and actions, bringing portfolio management, analytics, negotiations, and AI recommendations into one system for legal, operations, finance, and business teams.

The client arrived with a strong vision for the AI but no product architecture to hold it together, nothing to connect analytics, negotiations, and everyday work into one experience. Lazarev.agency built that structure by reshaping the system into a product where every user can see what is happening, what needs attention, and what to do next.

Designed a centralized home dashboard

The Kontrak IQ home page became an entry point, bringing the user's work context together in one place. The scattered notifications are gone. What truly needs attention now sits on the front screen: contracts requiring attention, upcoming expirations, and current tasks. Users see their priorities and move straight to the right workflow.

Tailored a portfolio view for each team role

A single, general overview forces every user to read past numbers they do not care about. Our team built the Contract Connect Dashboard so each role sees its own portfolio: Client View leads with revenue, Supplier View with contract spend, and Other View with active, expiring, and inactive counts.

To keep the screen useful for action and not only monitoring, we also linked every analytics block to the contracts behind it. High-level metrics, charts, and lists of expiring contracts lead straight to specific contracts and the next step for each.

AI dashboard design: 7 principles from live AI products

Built focused analytical dashboards

An overall status tells a team something is off, but not where the money or the risk sits. We designed Enhanced Dashboards as a separate analytical layer to break the portfolio down by topic: rebates, financial commitments, exclusivity, liability caps, expirations, and more. Each topic gets the format suited to it: a bar chart for rebates, a risk matrix for liability caps, a treemap for exclusivity, a map for financial commitment locations — so users spot any deviations fast.

Pulled the whole negotiation into one workspace

In the Negotiations workspace, we brought the document, revision history, comments, and clause statuses into a shared context. Everything tied to a negotiation is now visible and trackable in a single space, so no one argues over which version is current.

We also added tools to keep negotiations in hand: playbooks, structured terms, Code View, version comparison, and a rollback option. Users edit the text and see which clauses are missing, which fall short of the standard, and where the latest edits landed. The negotiation runs more transparent, so agreements reach a signature with less back and forth.

Transformed AI contract analysis into actionable recommendations

Raw AI signals impress in a demo, then go nowhere in real work, because no one knows what to do with them. Our team reshaped Robo Consultant from an abstract AI module into a decision-making assistant: each user gets a prioritized list of actions showing what to do, the value at stake, how long it takes, and the stage each one is at. Users move from analysis to execution in a tap, and the AI earns its keep beyond the legal team.

We also put the reasoning on screen. Every recommendation opens through Who, What, Why, and How, with segments, suggested actions, and the exact contact for the next step. This is how Robo Consultant guides people to act and recovers value the business would otherwise lose.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions
about this topic

Can Lazarev.agency design a solution for a contract platform as complex as ours?

Yes. Kontrak IQ spans portfolio analytics, negotiations, compliance, and AI recommendations across legal, finance, and operations roles. Lazarev.agency built one architecture to hold all of it, so depth never costs the user clarity.

How does design drive adoption across legal, finance, and business teams?

Each role sees its own view and its own next step. For Kontrak IQ, Lazarev.agency built role-based dashboards and action lists, so teams reach for the product on their own and adoption holds without a forced rollout.

Will AI features deliver real business value, or just impressive demos?

AI pays off when its output is an action. Kontrak IQ's Robo Consultant gives prioritized recommendations with the value at stake and the exact contact for the next step, helping teams recover value the business would otherwise lose.

How does better negotiation design affect deal speed?

One workspace holds the document, versions, comments, and clause statuses together. Kontrak IQ's negotiation flow keeps everyone on the current version, so agreements reach signature with less back and forth.

What do dashboards change for decision-making?

They carry users from a number to the contract behind it. Kontrak IQ's dashboards link metrics, risk matrices, and expiring-contract lists straight to specific records and next steps, so exposure surfaces while there is still time to act.

Will a legal operations platform design like this scale as we grow?

Yes. Lazarev.agency built Kontrak IQ on modular patterns and clear workflows, so new features, user roles, and compliance requirements fit without disrupting what already works.

Why choose a specialized design partner over building this in-house?

A partner who has shaped a system this layered already knows where complexity hides. Lazarev.agency reshaped Kontrak IQ's contract intelligence into daily decisions, the kind of outcome that moves a product from impressive to commercially useful.
