Brand consistency

Let a hundred people publish. Keep one brand.

If publishing more means drifting a little further off brand every week, this page is for you. We build a content compliance system with two jobs: it checks every page and image before it goes live, and it creates on-brand ones in the first place. Publishing stays fast. The brand stays yours.

Talk to a product lead

What it's about:

The brand holds at any publishing volume without a person reading everything. Rules and components encode what on-brand means, an automated check scores every page and image before it goes live, and generation runs inside those same rails. Reviewers see the exceptions. Content governance stops being a document and becomes what the tools allow. How brand drift shows up:

  • You scaled publishing, and now half your pages look off-brand.
  • Pages live on your domain nobody remembers approving, in a layout nobody designed.
  • Imagery drifts by team: one product line matches the brand book, another looks like a stock library.
  • Brand review became the new dev queue, and everything waits on one person's eyes.
  • The brand book is thorough, current, and open in nobody's browser.
  • Agencies, regions, and product teams each publish a slightly different company.

Is it you?

This is for you if

  • Many hands publish daily: regions, product teams, agencies, partners.
  • You scaled content and the brand drifted with it.
  • Brand review is a queue and the reviewer is a person with another job.
  • You want to publish more, and the brand is the reason you hesitate.

Not for you if

  • One person controls a five-page site. Consistency isn't your problem.
  • The brand itself is still being decided. Encode it once it has settled.
  • You want a stricter approval chain. This system removes the chain instead of lengthening it.

How to keep pages on brand when everyone publishes:

Make the right thing the easy thing. The design system supplies components marketers can't distort: they assemble, reorder, and fill them, and the spacing, type, and color hold on their own. The check runs on everything automatically. People only see it when something fails, so nobody is queuing headlines for approval. How your content gets built:

Encode the brand

Your guidelines become rules and components a machine can apply, starting from the brand book you already have.

Wire the checks into publishing

Every page and image gets scored before it goes live, on your stack.

Turn on creation inside the rails

Image generation and page assembly that start from the brand.

Tune it on real content

The first weeks calibrate what blocks, what warns, and what passes.

One system, two sides:

  • It creates: On-brand image generation with checks built in, and pages assembled from your design system. What people make starts inside the brand instead of getting pulled back to it afterward.

  • It checks: Every page and image gets scored against your brand before it goes live: layout, components, tone, and imagery. Passing content publishes on its own. Failing content comes back with what to fix.

What our clients measured:

  • One system, five sub-brands: a scalable brand system carried AfroTech from 500 to 20,000 users and gave the team a foundation to launch five new sub-brands without redrawing anything.
  • One standard across every surface: Swell AI's brand system held across a conference site, an asset library, and a merchandise line, and helped a first-edition event attract speakers from Google DeepMind and sponsors including Metalab.

A brand holds at volume when the system holds it. The same pattern shows up wherever we've built one.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions
about this topic

Does this replace brand review?

It replaces brand review of everything. A person still owns the brand and still sees content, but only the content the check flags. Review moves from a queue on every page to judgment on the exceptions, which is what a brand owner is for.

What happens when a check fails?

The page or image comes back to its author with the specific rule it broke and, where possible, a compliant version to accept or edit. Nothing silently disappears and nothing silently ships. Repeated failures usually point at a missing component, and then we add one, because a rule people keep breaking is a design system gap.

Can it match our existing brand guidelines?

That is the starting point. We encode the brand book you have: type, color, layout, imagery style, tone. Where the guidelines are ambiguous, encoding them forces the useful conversation about what the brand actually is, and the written version comes out sharper than it went in.

Who tunes the system over time?

Your brand owner, with controls made for a person rather than a config file. Thresholds, new rules and new components are theirs to change. We stay through calibration and then hand over the keys: the system is built to be run by your team.

Ready to be the product people remember?

Your AI is built. The story is the next thing that changes everything. Tell us what you're working on — you'll hear back from a brand and product lead with a clear point of view on where to start.
