How the Campus AXESS redesign replaced spreadsheets with one control center
Project:
the project
A single hub in place of spreadsheets and email chains
Campus AXESS is a cloud platform where language schools and universities manage admissions, academics, and student services. The data was all there, but the structure was not. Staff bounced between screens and outside tools to handle applications, class assignments, visa documents, and academic records.Â
Lazarev.agency redesigned Campus AXESS's education management platform into an institutional control center for admissions, academics, and student records. Staff now move from a high-level overview to a single student record in a few predictable steps.
The Project’s
Discovery Phase
Unified student profiles to end cross-tab hunting
In Campus AXESS, answering a routine question about a student used to mean opening several tabs and tools to assemble their academic record, alongside other key details.Â
Lazarev.agency rebuilt the student account into a single profile where the indicators staff check first are pinned at the top, and everything secondary sits grouped a click below. An advisor reads a student's full standing without leaving the page or rebuilding it from memory. Staff can now settle almost any question about a student from the account view alone, without rebuilding the picture in a spreadsheet.
Filters to reach the right cohort fast
Campus AXESS institutions manage hundreds or thousands of student records, and before the redesign, finding the right group meant endless scrolling.Â
Lazarev.agency rebuilt the students page around filtering and in-list search. Staff can narrow a full roster by enrollment status, program, and campus and land on the exact set they need to act on. Each row has a student's status up front, so an administrator reads standing across a long list without opening a single record.
One clear entry point for staff and students
Staff and students often open Campus AXESS only occasionally, and a confusing sign-in is enough to trigger password resets and support tickets before the day's work begins.Â
Lazarev.agency reworked the entry flow so everyone lands on a single, predictable screen and signs in with an email or a social account. Short security guidance encourages safer passwords without adding steps. Getting in stops being the first obstacle of the day, and staff and students reach their own view of Campus AXESS without calling an administrator.
Editable records to hold student data safely
A student's visa dates, passport details, and emergency contacts are the records an institution cannot afford to get wrong, yet in the old Campus AXESS they lived across forms no one wanted to open.Â
Lazarev.agency built the personal details view into a single editable record where staff capture identity, visa and passport data, and next-of-kin contacts, and can sign in as the student to see the same view the student does. Visa and passport fields are in one record, so an update takes one stop. The record stays accurate, and staff can sign in as the student to fix an issue from the student's own view. Â

FAQ
What are the best ways to improve usability in education management software?
The most effective way to improve usability in education management platforms is to restructure the information architecture so critical data appears first and related tasks sit close together. For Campus AXESS, Lazarev.agency rebuilt the student account into one profile and the students page around filtering and search, so staff reach the record they need without opening several tabs. This reduced administrative overload and made everyday review faster across departments.
How can universities and language schools handle student administration workflows more efficiently?
Institutions work more efficiently when fragmented tools are consolidated into one system. For Campus AXESS, we brought applications, academic records, visa documents, and notes into the student account and roster, so daily work happens in the platform in place of side spreadsheets and email chains. This cut repetitive navigation and improved coordination across departments.
What makes a strong student profile design in education SaaS platforms?
A strong student profile brings a person's full standing into one screen and keeps the details staff check first visible at the top. In this project, Campus AXESS unifies academic, visa, and administrative data in a single account, with an editable record for identity, passport, and emergency contacts. This lets staff answer a student's question without rebuilding the picture in a spreadsheet.
How do you design student management systems for scale?
Scalable student management platforms rely on predictable patterns and strong filtering so large record sets stay workable. For Campus AXESS, we structured the students page so staff narrow hundreds or thousands of records by enrollment status, program, and campus and read each student's status without opening the record. This lets institutions manage growth without adding operational complexity.
Why do education platforms struggle with adoption among staff?
Adoption suffers when workflows are fragmented and basic tasks take too many steps, so staff fall back on tools they already trust. For Campus AXESS, we gave staff and students one predictable sign-in and a unified account, so access and everyday review stop competing with the work itself. This shortened the path to real tasks and made the platform easier to bring into daily use.
What design improvements increase efficiency in academic administration software?
Efficiency improves when critical information appears first, actions are clearly prioritized, and records update in one stop. In this project, we kept a student's key indicators visible, put status up front on the roster, and made the personal details record editable so a visa or passport update takes a single save. This supports faster decisions and fewer data errors.
When should an education SaaS platform invest in UX redesign?
Education platforms should consider redesign when training time grows, staff need constant clarification, or teams lean on outside spreadsheets to cover system gaps. For Campus AXESS, redesigning the platform into an institutional control center gave institutions the structure to roll it out across departments and support long-term growth. Predictable navigation and a unified student record are the signals of that shift.
